Our Charities

The Gambia
Since the event started in 2003 large amounts of money have been raised for charities in The Gambia, last year alone raising over £100,000.
So how is this done?  Quite simply, the car and everything we can cram in it is donated to the organisers in The Gambia, auctioned, and the proceeds distributed to deserving causes.
The receiving charities are “The Association of Small-Scale Enterprises in Tourism” and the “Gambian National Olympic Committee”
ASSET operates in the tourist industry, giving a voice and a chance to thousands of Gambians to benefit from the growing tourist trade, independently from the big tour companies.
GNOC is about making things work for the countries sports persons.  Providing stadia and sports kits.  Indeed the cars will be auctioned in the country’s National Stadium.

The United Kingdom

Logo_movers In the UK we have decided to support The Cure Parkinson's Trust     www.cureparkinsons.org.uk
John’s mother (Rachael’s grandmother) suffered from Parkinson’s disease for 20 years, blighting the later years of her life, making this a personal cause for us.  The charity aims to raise funds and awareness of Parkinson’s research, channelling funds quickly and directly into projects, hosting research forums and disseminating the results from these meetings.

You can help by donating online at   http://www.justgiving.com/bangerandsmash

If you donate online, please tick the Gift Aid box, as this will allow the charity to collect nearly £12 for every £10 you donate.
